From 16 to 18 September, HubSpot brought its community together in Boston for this year's flagship conference. But this year it wasn't called INBOUND. After fifteen years, the event has a new name: Unbound. According to HubSpot, the new name reflects that growth today is about much more than a single marketing methodology. It's about new channels, new ways of working and, above all, new technology.
And technology really was in focus. Alongside the conference, HubSpot launched its Fall Spotlight with more than a hundred updates across the platform. We've gone through them and gathered the highlights here.
If there was one word you kept hearing in Boston, it was context. HubSpot presented a survey of 6,000 customers and prospects showing that around 90 percent use AI, but only 6 percent see truly transformational results.
The explanation is simple. The most common uses of AI, such as drafting copy and emails, have the least business impact. The uses that really move the needle, such as campaign analysis and pipeline prioritization, require the AI to understand your specific business. Generic context gives generic results.
HubSpot's answer is Growth Context: a layer of data about your business, your customers and your team that all AI in the platform can draw from. Dharmesh Shah, HubSpot co-founder and CTO, put it this way: your business context outlasts any single AI model. According to HubSpot, companies using Growth Context create twice as many deals, win three times as many deals and close more than twice as many tickets.
Context Home is a new, central place to store the information AI needs: your ICP, products, tone of voice, brand and much more. You can upload files and add free-form notes. Context Home replaces the former AI Data Sources feature and also scores how complete your context is, so you can see where the gaps are.
Our take: This may be the most important announcement of all, precisely because it is so fundamental. Every agent launched this year gets better the better your context is. Start here.
Breeze Assistant has been rebuilt from the ground up. Previously it could answer questions like "who are our biggest customers in Stockholm". Now it can take action directly in your portal: creating documents, automations, custom apps and agents. For example, it can draft a follow-up email after a customer meeting or turn several sales calls into a structured proposal. Scheduled prompts, result sharing and mobile voice (beta) are also part of the update.
With more agents at work, you need an overview. Agent Hub (formerly Breeze Agents) gives you a single view of every agent in your portal across marketing, sales and service, where you can see status and activity and switch agents on or off.
Agent Builder (formerly Breeze Studio) is where you build your own agents. A long-awaited addition is that existing workflows can be converted into agentic workflows with a single click.
Marketing Studio has been thoroughly reworked and is now where the whole campaign is built, from audience and messaging to assets, launch and measurement. Three agents work together here, all in public beta:
On top of that came automated campaigns, native WhatsApp marketing and a new landing page editor (all in beta), plus simplified lead scoring.
HubSpot becomes the first CRM to integrate with ChatGPT Ads, so you can connect advertising in ChatGPT to contacts and deals in HubSpot. There is also a new Microsoft Advertising integration and support for Reddit Ads (beta).
At the same time, HubSpot AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) keeps growing. It measures how often your brand is mentioned in AI answers from tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, and how your competitors show up in the same answers. For anyone working on visibility, this is an area to watch closely.
For sales teams, the big news was a self-updating Smart CRM. Calls, emails and meetings are captured automatically, and CRM fields are filled in as suggestions that the rep reviews and approves. Less admin, better data.
HubSpot also launched:
Customer Agent received more than a dozen updates, including smoother handoffs to a human, different tone of voice for different customer segments, batch testing and voice support (beta). Help Desk also gained SMS support and an omnichannel waitlist (beta).
It's tempting to try everything at once. Our advice is the opposite:
Unbound 2026 made it clear where HubSpot is heading: from a tool you work in to a platform where AI agents work for you, fuelled by your business context.
